Sponsors & Supporters
"Working in partnership not only has the potential to enrich people's lives, but can also deliver tangible results... Community and business partnerships are a driver to accomplish better outcomes than any group acting alone could achieve."
- The Hon. John Howard, Prime Minister of Australia
Partnership is an integral element in the Foundation's philosophy. In developing partnerships, The George Foundation is mindful of the fact that there must be benefits to both parties and a mutual commitment to reducing the global burden of non-communicable disease and injury. We believe that it is vital to successful relationships that we recognise in an appropriate way the generosity of our supporters.
We greatly appreciate the generous support of the following:
ServierServier, an international pharmaceutical company, has partnered with The George Institute for a number of years on two of its major international clinical trials - ADVANCE and PROGRESS, providing significant R & D funding for these projects. In addition, Servier has donated $1.2 million to establish the Servier Cardiovascular Research Wing at the Institute. More recently, Servier has generously provided an educational grant of $20,000 for the 2006 World Heart Federation Ten-Day Teaching Seminar to be held in Australia for the first time and which is being hosted by the Institute. Another educational grant has also been provided to support the Institute in co-hosting the 5th Annual Baker Heart Research Institute and The George Institute for International Health Symposium. We are pleased to acknowledge Servier as a Visionary supporter of The George Institute for International Health. |

Macquarie BankFor more than 35 years, Macquarie Bank has acted in the simple belief that a company has an obligation to work for the betterment of the communities in which it operates. The Macquarie Bank Foundation was established in 1984 to formalise this commitment and currently contributes more than $8.5 million a year in community grants to about 250 not-for-profit organisations. We welcome Macquarie Bank Foundation as a Champion of The George Institute for International Health with a $50,000 grant to support the Institute’s ChinaQUEST stroke research project, details of which can be found under the Neurological & Mental Health Division. |
